Subject themes of crazy political ideals, fanatic religious beliefs, a womans place etc, all inticately woven ino this romance beautifully. The sexual content played out between the two main characters was not messy but wonderfully innocent. Could've been psychologically devastating for our heroine if not for her strength of character. Despite all she experienced she survived...they both did. Falling in Love, escaping from a parent bent on controlling, discovering/rediscovering life beyond those controls was definitely an unenviable situation for our heroine but the support of our hero made captivating reading. Worthwhile reading soo recommended. Roxie Noir has yet again out done herself...Product details

OK, I still like her book Ride the best, but this one has become my second favorite of her books. Gabriel and Ruby story was so hard to put down and it was so good with a really interesting twist.
Another great read! Roxie does not disappoint, again. The story was hard to put down. I just kept telling myself, just one more chapter. The characters were complex, as well as the story. Despite the nature of the story line dealing with religious "cultism", the main female character had strength and courage. Add steamy scenes and humor in the mix. Oh, and lets not forget the surprises.
Slow to start but a very worthwhile read. Believable characters and plausible situations make me wonder if the author has known religious fanatics herself. Bad boy teaching the innocent maid all about real sex was smoking hot!
Roxie Noir... Great writer that always keeps me entertained!
Today some may think this story isn't plausible, but unfortunately young women still live in circumstances like this and worse. I found this story with a lot of substance and depth.
Ruby is a young woman who was raised under her fathers thumb. After he married her off in an arranged marriage, she had the wherewithal to rise above her circumstances. Enters Gabriel, a handsome smart man, who was on leave from his secret service job. Ruby's father sought out Gabriel as a bodyguard for Ruby only for them to fall in love. A lot happens in a short amount of time, but you have to read the book, no spoilers here. There is a HEA, but the plot thickens... Enjoy!
Roxie Noir nails it. These characters are wonderful, as usual, and the story has the sweetest ending. I love everything Roxie Noir writes, and recommend her books to anyone who loves a strong, confident heroine and a supportive, super sexy hero, with an HEA every time!
Awesome romance! Gabriel and Ruby have mega chemistry and I absolutely loved these characters. The story is great, the writing excellent, the plot compelling. I couldn't put this book down. I love all of Roxie's book but this one is at the top of my list.
Ruby was the daughter of a senator. Gabriel was hired to be her bodyguard because her father was receiving the e at mail for Ruby. I think Rubies father was a wack job. He told he's kids what to wear, how to act and women were allowed to have children, cook and to serve there husbands. Even though Ruby was watched night and day she managed to sneak out at night and meet Gabriel. Good read.
